Kamala was born in Kingston, Jamaica, but was placed in several foster homes before being adopted by her parents in the United States of America at the age of five.
Despite her dyslexia, Kamala excelled in History, Geography, and Math. Her love for reading was not hindered by her writing skills, which led to her being placed in special needs classes. Undeterred, Kamala applied for college, fully aware of the challenges she would face. Her perseverance paid off when she was accepted at the prestigious Cheyney University of Pennsylvania.
Kamala was accepted under the Fredrick Douglass scholarship program.
During her time at Cheyney, Kamala excelled academically and socially. She achieved a 3.0 GPA in her first two semesters, served as the first-year class President, and founded the pre-law society and the democratic group. She also held leadership roles in the Republican group, the Program Board, and the Student Against Drunk Driving initiative. Her dedication to student safety was evident at all Council of Trustees meetings. Kamala's commitment to education was further demonstrated by her involvement in organizing numerous campus events, including the Ms.Cheyney Pageant, throughout her undergraduate years.
Kamala also became a student trustee board member during her sophomore year, serving on the Cheyney University Board of Trustees and the Board of Governors for the State System of Higher Education. Additionally, she won the crown of Ms. Cheyney University and spent her junior year at Cheyney.
Kamala became the national vice chair for the Republicans and Democrats. Kamala uses that time to expose herself to a life she knew nothing of. Kamala made sure she opened up to everything that intrigued her and had questions. Kamala was also a Resident Advisor at Cheyney University for three and a half years. Above all, Kamala graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Social Relations, a concentration in Criminal Justice, and a minor in Political Science.
After graduation, she earned her Magistrate Certificate and became a CPR training coordinator. She worked for the former Congress for 20 years, starting in Curt Weldon's campaign after graduating from school. After completing her education, she enrolled at Strayer University to pursue her Master's in Public Administration; however, during her tenure with the program, Kamala discovered in 2010. Her father was diagnosed with Leukemia, and his father lost his life to his battle in 2015; after that heartache, she lost her brother all within 18 months of each other. While she would be focused and produce excellent work, my heart was not in it, apart from my passion for school, which waned when I lost interest in that major.
In recent years, Kamala's passion for helping foster children has been a driving force in her life. She launched a scholarship fund at her alma mater, Cheyney University, and her parents' alma mater to support children aging out of foster care pursuing higher education. Her goal is to equip these young adults with the necessary skills to become productive members of society. Kamala's pursuit of her Master's degree is a personal goal to set an example for these children and further her career at St Joe's.
With the scholarship fund, I aim to make it fully accessible, creating an institution that equips children aging out with the soft skills necessary better to support communication with peers, staff, and society.
Then Nick Miccarelli for State Representative campaign. Kamala ran for office as the first Black woman in the 185th district. After working as a Magistrate, Kamala soon turns her attention to the criminal justice system. Kamala would work in politics only to help with fundraising and programming ideas. However, Kamala had found her passion in the criminal justice system. Kamala spent a few years in security and then gained her certification in law enforcement. Finally, Kamala earned her child care advocate license to advocate for children in foster care.
Kamala then took a position in Alabama as the Program Coordinator for disaster relief for the state. After a few years with the state, Kamala returned to pursue her passion in Criminal Justice with Alabama's State Probation and Parole office in Tuscaloosa, serving as Program Coordinator for a few years. After a while, Kamala returned to Pennsylvania, working with Drexel, the Philadelphia Art Museum, the Comcast Center, and the Wharton School of Business in Security Management. In addition, Kamala has worked with many prominent privately owned brokerage firm holders globally, including BlackRock in Philadelphia, PA, and Allied Universal.
She has also worked with International Paper Mill in Selma, AL, the world's third-largest paper company, as the Director of Security with Allied Universal.
Kamala has been with Allied for 17 years, becoming Regional Operation Manager/Client Manager in the Pennsylvania Region and then South Eastern (Alabama to Parts of Florida)of Security with only an opportunity with the Director of Child First group in which she once lived to request her assistance as their Client/ Service Staff supervisor- As well as serving as the regional emergency manager at Allied in the southeastern state- Of Alabama.

Kamala's fundamental goal is to serve others and help them become the best versions of themselves by adding essential elements to their life toolkits. She is currently serving in her role as Property Manager at the Springfield Mall, where she was the first black female to hold the position of Director of Security. Now, she is currently running for Congress in Pennsylvania, where she would be the black woman elected.
Kamala is a dedicated advocate for the 5th district.
With a strong focus on community support and youth development.
She aims to address critical issues like the opioid crisis.
